Council employees lend a helping hand

Pastor Judy had the recent opportunity  to meet with Riann Thorp of the City of Wanneroo and gratefully receive items (much of which we would take for granted)  donated for the homeless that we serve through the Food Ministry at Rainbow Church.

These donations were the results of a campaign the council ran for Homeless Week, where they ran a donation drive amongst the City of Wanneroo staff to raise awareness and support local organisations assisting the homeless and people in need within the City.

We especially like the effort put in to accommodate our requests for those who do not have a home and more often than not find themselves sleeping rough. We who live in a dwelling take for granted the availability of running hot water and even a toilet. The toiletry bags with simple essentials, will help make someone who has to live this way, hopefully know that there are people who care and want to see them live better days ahead.

The Food Ministry at Rainbow Church would like to express their gratitude for time and effort the staff of the City of Wanneroo have put in to make this happen.

For more info on how you too can help make a difference in the community we live in check out our soup kitchen webpage.
